For nearly 10 years, Louisiana Healthcare Connections has donated toward the valuable work at the Northshore Food Bank, including our most recent, three-year, $30,000 annual commitment to sponsor a new truck and food distribution boxes. Access to food has such an impact on health, and it is an ongoing challenge for Louisiana. The Northshore Food Bank’s commitment to fighting hunger at the community level is why Louisiana Healthcare Connections is pleased to support its food distribution efforts. Nearly 70,000 Louisiana Healthcare Connections members live in St. Tammany and surrounding parishes, so, we know there is a great need in the region, and 38% of our members responding to a recent survey reported experiencing recent food insecurity. Louisiana Healthcare Connections works to connect the dots between healthcare providers, members, and food insecurity resources, like the Northshore Food Bank. So, we are pleased to continue to support these efforts that assist so many in leading healthier lives, aligning with our mission to transform Louisiana’s health, one person at a time.
